2009 resolutions

apparently, the best way to keep your new years resolutions is if you share them with as many people as possible. i am not sure if this is so they can shame you once you give up, or so that they can assist you as you pursue your goals. either way, here we go...

become a better dog mother

bullet has had behavioral issues for years. we've done all sorts of training, some more successful than others, but nothing that really brought us to resolution. it's hard owning a dog with behavioral problems, especially when those problems endanger other dogs and really limit the quality of her life. next year, i want to devote much more time with her no matter the sacrifices.

set foot on foreign land
i used to love traveling to new places. this year, i put in so much travel to places i've already explored, travel became a means to an end, not a way to get to a new adventure. maybe i can fix this. i sure hope so.

be a part of something more meaningful
wake up. walk the dog. catch the train. work, work, work. catch the train. walk the dog. go to sleep. every now and then, something more fun enters the day, but for the most part, my past 12 months have been quite expected. that, and i'm sad to report, i've barely done anything that actually contributes to the city i live in. it's time to change that.

aside from that, i've got a lot of work to do on growing up. it's not a resolution since i don't see it happening in 2009 alone, but i hope to get a bit ahead on that task.
