misplaced
i left my phone somewhere i am not.
immediate panic. disconnect. emergency. loss. disappointment.
laughter. lots of it.
who the fuck cares? why the need to be so connected all the time. i've got my dog, i've got my ipod. things are good. this is where i want to be.
phone aside, today is a thinking day. all sorts of thinking i've been tasked with just this morning (and i quote directly):
"think about this for a while...let me know what you come up with."
"can you brainstorm some ideas?"
"have you heard of this thing? what do you think?"
"have you thought about what we could do?"
"i'm thinking more in the mass realm. what are some areas we could take it to?"
"what are some of your thoughts? it'd be great to have you involved in this brainstorm."
"are you thinking about this in the same context? i don't mind if you take it to a different level, just want to know where your head is at."
"shoot me an email with your thinking, would love to get a fresh perspective on this."
"we've thought about it in a number of different ways, does one approach feel better to you than other?"
"what's your honest opinion?"
"veda, any thoughts you have. seriously."
fuck people. i don't know. i just misplaced my phone and stopped thinking all together. maybe you should too. it's only monday.

november is a month for writing
and while my excuse for not doing so is just that there is no time, i am still making an effort in the literary realm. this month, i am making it a point to read more; starting with this recently purchased guide for the 21st century.

i am not sure what comes next. margaret is writing a novel about writer's block. i don't know why, but i've got this feeling that she'll end up with really bad writer's block mid story, and never finish. i hope she does. and i hope it gets published that way.
in the meantime, maybe she'll let me read it.
